Dr. Ali J. Chamkha is a Professor in the Manufacturing Engineering Department at the Public Authority for Applied Education & Training in Kuwait. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in 1989. His primary research areas are multiphase flow, energy systems modelling, nanofluids, transport in porous media, heat and mass transfer and filtration. He has been recently involved in the modelling of the transport of nanofluids in various physical energy-related systems. Professor Chamkha has published over 380 technical papers in refereed international journals and conferences. Dr. Chamkha has also distinguished himself as a teacher and a pioneer and a leader in the academic institutions that he worked in. The depth of Dr. Chamkha’s engagement with students and reflections on their learning processes, and his remarkable record of sustained teaching excellence mark him as a highly talented and charismatic teacher. Dr. Chamkha is the recipient of many Distinguished Teaching and Research awards from Tennessee Technological University, Kuwait University and other regional and international organizations. He is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Energy & Technology, an Editor for Communications in Numerical Analysis, an Editor for Hindawi ISRN Mechanical Engineering and Associate Editor the International Research Journal of Engineering Science, Technology and Innovation and the Journal of Applied Fluid Mechanics. In addition, Professor Chamkha serves on the editorial board of many other journals: International Journal for Numerical Methods for Heat and Fluid Flow, International Journal for Microscale and Nanoscale Thermal and Fluid Transport Phenomena, International Journal of Industrial Mathematics, International Journal of Advanced Renewable Energy Research, American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and the International Journal of Fluids and Thermal Sciences.
